About JamJoom Fashion

JamJoom Fashion is a fashion retailer serving customers in Saudi Arabia with a seasonal collection of around 20,000 SKUs live online at any one time across multiple Shopify stores.

The challenge: manual merchandising at scale, with little visibility

JamJoom Fashion’s previous search and merchandising tool, Boost AI offered limited functionality and very limited reporting. The team had little visibility into how search and merchandising were actually performing. The bigger problem was manual effort. With around 20,000 SKUs on site at any one time, spread across several Shopify stores, every category had to be merchandised by hand, store by store, with almost no automation to help.

That had a direct impact on shoppers. Out-of-stock products were often left sitting at the top of category pages, and with so many categories and SKUs to manage, it could easily go unnoticed.

The solution: automated merchandising and better reporting with Athos Commerce

JamJoom Fashion went looking for a platform that would take the manual work out of merchandising and give the team proper reporting.

The biggest change has come from global boost rules. Instead of merchandising collection by collection, the team now runs a single rule across every collection that only promotes products with at least 70% of sizes in stock, ranked by the highest-converting products over the last 30 days. Broken-size and out-of-stock products no longer crowd the top of the page, and best sellers rise automatically. Alongside merchandising, JamJoom Fashion has also optimized its site search with Athos.

Implementation: live in seven weeks, ahead of peak trading

JamJoom Fashion had a tight deadline: around seven weeks to go live before KSA National Day, the brand’s biggest trading period of the year. Working closely with the Athos team, JamJoom Fashion launched in early September, in time for peak.

Rachel from Athos Commerce was absolutely incredible, and from a technical perspective the Athos team is super strong. We had a really short timeline, only seven weeks or so to get it live before our biggest trading period of the year. As a result, we’ve seen some really incredible results, particularly on conversion rate.

The results: a 60% conversion uplift and hours back every week

In the first two weeks after launch, JamJoom Fashion’s conversion rate increased by 60%. The time savings are just as clear. Merchandising every category used to take the team around a whole week on the old system; with a global boost rule doing the heavy lifting, it now takes a couple of hours. Even the new arrivals category, which still needs two rounds of merchandising because of language requirements, has dropped from a couple of hours to around an hour.

If we were to spend the whole week merchandising every category, it would probably take us a whole week on the old system. Whereas now it would just be a couple of hours, because we’ve got that main rule that is super helpful.

What’s next: personalization by size

With search and merchandising live, JamJoom Fashion plans to make much more use of Athos personalization and A/B testing as its new site launches. A key focus is size-based personalization: tailoring the shopping journey to the sizes a customer has bought before, which matters for a seasonal collection where sizes often break.

From a personalisation standpoint that’s going to be super helpful for us, particularly with sizes. If customers have previously ordered a particular size, we can personalise the journey based on that. I think that’s probably going to be quite a big conversion rate optimization tool for us.
